The Great Rides and Cycle Trails of New Zealand

Alice Eaves Reserve

Regional Ride

Auckland, North Island

The tracks are next to this reserve and are separate from the walking tracks. It can be done as a loop including the road. Or you can use the numerous creek crossing bridges to make figure 8's so that you don't have to use the road.

Most of the trail is single track, it's rooty and twisty and perfect for a trail bike, skinny tires at high pressure will be hard work in here. You can enter by going through the Kensington Development. There is a nice bit of single track from the top as well Look for the entrance about 50 metres past a gravel lot with an old concrete water tank. Once you reach the bottom, you can turn right, duck over the creek and keep doing little loops.
