Millbrook Resort

From $15.00 - $1635.00

Millbrook is situated on 500 acres of spectacular scenery, surrounded by stunning mountains in a beautiful alpine amphitheatre.

Millbrook is an award-winning golf and lifestyle resort and Country Club that includes luxurious accommodation for up to 400 guests, a 27-hole championship golf course, an award-winning, world class Spa facility, fitness centre, bar, cafe, three restaurants and conference facilities. In addition the resort offers exclusive residential property investment opportunities and an array of walking and biking trails that meander through the property and the surrounding areas.

Formerly a 19th Century wheat farm, Millbrook has an historical theme, based on the New Zealand gold rush era and a number of the property’s 120 year old buildings have been restored to give the resort a real old world charm. It is Millbrooks’s dramatic backdrop, stunning views and rural feel that make it a favourite with locals. In the height of summer, Millbrook is alive with people and wildlife and the Millbrook ducks are famous for their inquisitive and friendly nature. Around the historic Millhouse and Mill Pond, various birdlife can also be viewed such as native Waterfowl, Birds of Prey, Bellbirds and Tui.

Millbrook has four defined biking and walking trails that not only take in the resort, but also local treasures, such as Lake Hayes, the Arrow River, the Chinese Miners Village and the nearby Gold Mining Village of Arrowtown.

The Millbrook trails are all graded easy to moderate level and are ideal for a leisurely bike ride with friends, family and the children. With an abundance of flora, fauna and historical points of interest, Millbrook is a natural paradise and there is no better way to absorb the surroundings than by bike.

At the end of your ride, why not reward yourself with a coffee, cold beverage or a local wine from our hole in one café, or sample the brasserie’s famous pizzas and lunch menu. If you’re in need of even more relaxation, the award-winning Spa at Millbrook offers wonderful treatments for the entire body. Alternatively, sit back and unwind in the outdoor spa pools to melt away any aches from the day.

Ranging in length from 30 minutes to three hours, Millbrook’s biking and walking trails offer access to some of the regions best scenery. With bikes available to hire at reception and the cafes, bars, spa and hot pools to amuse you after your ride, Millbrook Resort is a must visit for those that love to ride.

Millbrook Bike Trails

Mill Stream

Start from the Village Centre and make your way along the historic Mill Stream returning via some of Millbrook’s newly developed neighbourhoods. Linger alongside the stream and wetland areas and observe the birdlife that has made Millbrook home. Brown Trout can be easily spotted in the stream, whereas the native New Zealand Eel will only be seen at night under a spotlight.

Lake Hayes Trail

Start in the Village Centre and make your way through to the resort’s southern boundary following the Mill Stream. Enjoy panoramic views of Lake Hayes as you descend toward Speargrass Flat Road that leads you to the loop trail around Lake Hayes (8km), a popular local trail. On a clear, calm day the mirrored surface of the Lake reflects the Remarkables Mountain range and surrounding hillsides – magical.

Orchard Trail

This loop encompasses the Village Centre and a section of Millbrook’s Arrow and Remarkables 9-hole golf courses. Passing through remnants of this historic Mill Farm Orchard, enjoy sweeping views of Coronet Peak in the west and Brow Peak, Big Hill, German Hill, Feehly Hill, Mt Beetham and the Crown Range to the east.

Arrowtown Trail

Stroll down the stately Avenue with trees planted in 1867. In the 1860’s, as a gold rush lured miners to this rugged corner of New Zealand, the French Butel brothers established a 450-acre wheat farm to feed them.

The rustic remains of that farm live on in the restored buildings and iconic avenue of trees that welcome visitors today. From the Millbrook boundary, cross Malaghans Road on to Manse Road which takes you to the historic town of Arrowtown.
