We offer accommodation to suit all budgets and can provide a secure place to lock up your bikes. National Park Backpackers and YHA welcomes a wide variety of travellers from all over the world. With our wide range of budget friendly accommodation options, we are able to cater for singles, couples, families and groups. For those wishing to self-cater we have a well stocked communal kitchen and dining area, whilst our location is handy enough to eat in nearby cafes and pubs. In Summer months our BBQ is available and guests can eat with some of the best views the area has to offer.

Affordable, upmarket self-contained accommodation in Karapiro, Cambridge, New Zealand Come and enjoy our newly built self-contained accommodation set in a private tree lined location in Karapiro. The Hydro Road is situated amongst an established woodland garden, right on the doorstep of Lake Karapiro - just a two minute drive or five minute walk away. Hydro Road offers two options of accommodation - the self-contained unit and two in-house rooms for additional guests. Watch the water sports, have a game of golf (only five minutes drive away) or go shopping in Cambridge - the town of arts, crafts and antiques. Maungatautari Mountain Ecological Reserve and walking tracks are only seven kilometres away. Centrally located in the Waikato, Hydro Road is within an hours drive of Rotorua, Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Raglan and Waitomo. It is a ten minute drive to Mystery Creek, Hamilton and Hamilton International Airport. Walk only five minutes and you arrive at the Powerhouse Restaurant Cafe and Bar which overlooks the lake.

Uncle Bill’s Cottage is a gorgeous country house on a sheep and beef farm – set in perfect privacy overlooking a beautiful trout-filled river; it’s a world away from the city and neighbours. You could be sitting here on the deck after a hard day’s ride, relaxing with a cold drink… Situated on Ruatiti Rd in the Orautoha Valley, we are a short 35 minute bike ride from the start of the stunning Mangapurua Track (Bridge to Nowhere) section of the Mountain to Sea Cycleway. We can arrange jet boat transport from the Mangapurua Landing to Pipiriki and shuttle bus from Pipiriki back to the cottage; or you can simply bike in and back out again – it’s your choice! Uncle Bill’s Cottage is the perfect base for enjoying the Bridge to Nowhere Track and the many other cycling trails in the Ruapehu. From the time you step in the door of our fully set up cottage you can relax. With quality bed linen and towels provided, and no house cleaning to do at the end of your visit, all you have to do is enjoy yourself!
