Whakapapa Village

Destination

The Central North Island is home to some of the best biking in New Zealand and the Whakapapa Village is the ideal place to base yourself on your cycle holiday in the region. Whakapapa Village is nestled at the base of Mount Ruapehu and Mount Ngauruhoe within the Tongariro National Park. Enjoy native bush, little crowds, expansive views in an epic little corner of New Zealand's North Island.

There are trails nearby to satisfy all levels of cyclists. The Ruapehu Whanganui Trails start close to the village and lead all the way to Whanganui. For keen MTBers, check out the Fishers Track or the 42 Traverse for some of New Zealand's best single track riding.

A range of accommodation options, a pub, cafe and restaurant compliment this alpine village.
