The track itself starts with a daunting drop down from the ridge and then settles into a technical rootfest with a few good ramps and drops in there for good measure.
This track is part of an epic 4-6 hour ride combining a climb up Fringe Hill, Black Diamond Ridge, Sunshine Ridge, and the ride home down the Maitai Valley. Mechanical Failure means a long walk back out. On exit at the bottom, turn left and follow the road down to the dam and then down the Maitai Valley Road to Nelson.
