This is a long forestry road that goes from the Brook Valley up to the top of Fringe Hill. Used for access to the Black Diamond, Sunshine and Peking Ridge tracks. For the less skilled, returning via "The Classic" and "Dun Mountain" tracks is a good option. View up the top is stunning

Directions

From central Nelson, you will need to find Brook street and drive up the valley past the one way system.
Just after the one way system on the left is a large paddock for the riding for the disabled.
Turn left here and park at the Dun Mountain Track Carpark.
Instead of going up the Dun Mountain Track, ride up the gravel road, past the waterworks keeping left to the saddle.
From the saddle do not go through the gate, but turn hard right and foloow the road all the way to the top.
