Tuohys Gully
Classic Mountain Bike Ride
Lake Wanaka, South Island
This is a great wilderness ride on the Pisa Range, accessed from the Waiorau Snow Farm turn off in the Cardrona Valley.
Follow the 4wd track up Tuohys Gully Road 500m to the saddle then follow the DOC signs a further 2km to Meg’s Hut. Take a southwest direction to Miner’s Hut, this is open country, picturesque Tussock-filled rolling hills and it is advisable to carry a topomap and be prepared for all weather conditions. Follow the marked route south for approx 6km, this will then join the 4wd Cardrona Roaring Meg Pack Track gravel road down to the Kawarau River and the Roaring Meg Power Station.
