Kinloch to Kawakawa Bay
Regional Ride
Lake Taupo, North Island
Recently upgraded this is an easy introduction to single track riding for everyone. The ride climbs about 100 metres over 2 kilometres before a long easy descent takes you into Kawakawa Bay. Ride back the same way.

I am sorry but this article about an easy introduction for single track riding is very very misleading. I have cycled on this track and it is very demanding and tough in most stages, I have been MTB for 10 years in NZ and overseas. It is however a great track with natural native forest and fantastic views especially when you arrive at the top. The ride down to Kawakawa bay is awesome, while the ride back up is a lot easier than the track coming from Kinloch. There is a certain degree of fitness required and a big determination to actually arrive at the top or to make it there and back. However if you take your time it will be a good ride for sure...take plenty of water and a feed and have a good rest down at Kawakawa bay and enjoy the serenity it is majic...
