Okiwi Bay to Half Moon Bay
Classic Mountain Bike Ride

This is a good ride for locals looking for a lot of boderline granny gear climbing to push their fitness.
The route is well signposted all the way up to a grassy saddle and fence line. A further 20 metres on, go straight through another fence opening (the gates have been removed) and head towards Kaikoura. From here, just follow the main 4WD track through multiple fence lines down, up and then down again to Half Moon Bay and Highway 1. Turn left and ride the 7km back on Highway 1 to Okiwi Bay.
Notes: This track is used mainly by hunters on 4X4 quad bikes so it is a bit rutted.
