The definitive where-to-ride guide for cycling in New Zealand

Haiku Pathway

Regional Ride

Bay of Plenty, North Island

The Haiku Pathway starts at the north end of the bridge over the Uretara stream at the north end of Katikati. It is an easy walkway following the Uretara Stream. There are also multiple access points off Main Road to the reserve and play area about 800 metres south of the bridge.

Also shown on the route below is the track through Uretara Wetlands. This begins on the south side of the Uretara bridge and follows the Uretara stream to a wetland reserve area which is still under development. You can exit at Riverside Place, or continue following the reserve area around the tidal inlet to the point at the end of Park Road. The Uretara wetlands is a popular walking area but the track is rougher and unsuitable for cycling.
