Hi All, Wow. It's been a month since our first Pedaling Update. Only a week ago we were yahooing that Spring was here and the Innovation Centre was full of bikes as everyone was riding before and after work.

Prime Minister and Tourism Minister John Key announced today on World Tourism Day that another $13.9 million in funding has been approved for five more cycle trails under the New Zealand Cycle Trail Project. With today’s announcement, all 18 Great Rides throughout New Zealand have now had their funding confirmed.

There was more great news earlier this week for one of New Zealand’s planned Great Rides. On Monday, the Westland Wilderness Trail received $3.2 million in funding from the New Zealand Cycle Trail Project. The trail is one of 18 other planned Great Rides throughout New Zealand and is a joint initiative...

North Otago’s planned Great Ride the Alps 2 Ocean Trail received $2.75 million from the New Zealand Cycle Trail Project today. Starting at the base of New Zealand’s highest peak Mount Cook, the Alps 2 Ocean Trail will traverse 314 kms through the McKenzie Basin to Oamaru.

There was great news yesterday for the Souther Lakes Region's planned Great Ride - The Queenstown Trail. Thanks to a $1 million grant from the Central Lakes Trust, the planned 87 km long Queenstown Trail is one step closer to completion.

Nga Haerenga, The New Zealand Cycle Trail project will sign its contract for the new Clutha Gold Trail (Roxburgh to Beaumont section) at a formal event at the Roxburgh Service Centre today. The trail is a joint initiative of Clutha Gold Trail Charitable Trust and The New Zealand Cycle Trail project.
