Lake Dunstan Cycle Challenge

Event: 1 year ago

Central Otago, South Island

The Lake Dunstan Cycle Challenge is a 96km road cycle race around beautiful Lake Dunstan. It's a brilliant way to see the Otago countryside and a good entry into the world of road touring.

Leaving the Cromwell Sports Club, the race field is held in neutral until you are over the bridge and heading north to Bendigo. The course turns left onto SH8A to Luggate, through Queensberry, Lowburn and back into Cromwell. The course is along public roads so entrants must exercise extreme care and follow road rules. Marshals will alert cars to the race, however they won't have the ability to stop traffic.

Get in a bunch and draft, aim for the front peloton or cruise with your mates; however you tackle the race, you're sure to have a good time (just beware of the inevitable headwind!).
