Coastal Classic MTB

Event: 2 years ago

Coastal Otago, South Island

The Coastal Classic takes place in beautiful Taieri in the Akatore Forest. Choose from a recreational 10 km ride or a challenging 50 km option.

The race starts in Livingstonia Park and heads out of Taieri Mouth on a sealed road. The sealed road turns into gravel and you're afforded stunning views of the Otago coastline. Riders head up Taieri Beach Rd before diverting off for a 3.5km sweeping downhill section to Akatore Creek.

This leads to the Akatore Forest where you'll ride rarely used forestry tracks of gravel, grass and mud. Riders take in an epic combination of challenging climbs and rapid descents with sweeping views of the Otago Coast. After leaving the forest track travel back via Taieri Beach Rd before a fantastic 6 km downhill decent that includes cross country farmland, forestry track, native bush, wetlands and mud tracks.

Finish with a sprint back to Livingstonia Park.
