Meridian Twizel Hard Labour Weekend

The Twizel Hard Labour Weekend events are held every Labour Weekend in the beautiful high country and around the canals near Twizel.

Dusky Trail MTB Race

Kick off your Twizel Hard Labour Weekend on Saturday with a Mountain Bike ride on our 44km course. Experience the beautiful Mackenzie Country as you travel through four high country stations and take in the stunning views of Mount Cook, Lake Pukaki, and Lake Benmore.

The race will start and finish on the Ben Ohau Station. From the SH8, turn west 200m south of the bridge over the Twizel River and then follow the Glen Lyon Road for 6km. You'll find Ben Ohau Station on the left and the start / finish point is 500m beyond the homestead on the right. While there will be portable toilets provided, shelter is limited so be sure to bring warm clothes.

Registration: 7:00 - 8:30 on race day at the start/finish area

Briefing: 8:30 - 8:45

Race Start: 9:00

Prize Giving: Start/finish area following the completion of the event

Canal Caper

This lapped road cycle alongside Twizel's iconic canal system will allow you to take in the splendor of the Mackenzie High Country and beautiful Lake Ohau. There is a 60 km (two lap) and 90 km (three lap) option. The 60km option is open to teams.
