Win an Avanti Kiss Single Speed 29er
Hi All - We hope this finds you well as the days are getting longer, slightly warmer and we can now see that Spring is just around the corner (at least after Sunday's winter blast!). We have been busy as usual around the Queenstown Innovation Centre with heaps of exciting projects in the works... NZByBike in the News First off, we're over the moon with the press we have received recently. NZByBike won the Otago section of the ANZ Business Plan competition; Dan spent hours over the previous weeks off his bike and stuck in the office polishing up the NZByBike business plan. The work paid off and it was fantastic to see a write-up on NZByBike in the Otago Daily Times. Dan and Mat also were interviewed here in Queenstown by the Mountain Scene and the work of NZByBike and others in the Innovation Centre got an excellent story published - have a look here. Travellers Guide to New Zealand by Bike We are proud to have Spaceships Campervans as an NZByBike Sponsor - our trusty 'Button' gets us to races all over New Zealand and out and about all round the country to talk about NZ Cycle Tourism. We're days away from completing a Travellers Guide to New Zealand by Bike Guide for Spaceships that will go out with all of their rentals that cruise around New Zealand this summer. These feature regional descriptions, must see rides around New Zealand and of course, listings for businesses found on NZByBike.com. We'll be finished with the final product soon, so be sure to keep an eye on NZByBike.com. Win an Avanti Kiss Single Speed 29er! We can't quite believe it, but NZByBike.com has now been live for an entire year. In our first 12 months in business, 71,175 visitors made their way to NZByBike.com - that's 195 visitors per day looking for information on New Zealand cycle trails and cycle friendly businesses like yours. Along with 12 months of being live, we're at the point where NZByBike listings will be coming up for renewal. We're excited to announce that businesses who renew their listing or take out a new listing by November 30th will go into a draw to win an awesome Avanti Kiss Single Speed 29er valued at $1900. This bike is the ultimate in cool rides. Register your business here or call Matt with any questions. Join Our Growing Team It's no easy job running New Zealand's most searched cycle information website, and we're excited to announce that we are seeking one or two more energetic, focused and outgoing self starters to join our team. These communications, marketing and product development focused roles will allow you to work alongside a pretty sweet team based in beautiful Queenstown. Join us as we promote cycle tourism to the domestic and international market. Read more about the positions here and if you're interested, send us a CV and Cover Letter. NZ Tourism Happenings There is a real positive feeling throughout the tourism industry at the moment. Dan has just returned from a Backpacking, Youth and Adventure Tourism Association Board meeting in Christchurch and he reports the mood is really positive. The new city plan was released yesterday and it seems that tourism considerations have been given real high priority. Ministry of Economic Development figures that came out in the Tourism Industry Monitor last week show a huge rise in the business confidence index, that is the majority of tourism businesses expect demand to rise in the next three months relative to the same period last year. Certainly a great deal is attributable the upcoming Rugby World Cup - but generally we are getting really good vibes from everyone in tourism. As the days get longer, we'll be spending more time out on our bikes taking in the best of the Southern Lakes. Matt and Dan have already started training for the Otago Rail Trail Classic on September 25th, a 100 mile race along the entire Otago Rail Trail - the ride that started it all in New Zealand. Hopefully we'll see you there. Keep up with us by becoming a fan on Facebook or following us on Twitter; until next time, don't hesitate to drop us a line in the Queenstown Innovation Centre at 034418494 with questions about NZbyBike. Happy Pedaling, Matt, Dan, Mat, Matze, Nicole, Toby & Leandro
