The definitive where-to-ride guide for cycling in New Zealand

Trip to Welly & Where is Winter

G'Day Everyone -

We hope this finds you well; here in the Queenstown Innovation Centre, we're simultaneously enjoying this mild start to winter (as we're still riding our bikes to work!), yet also very anxious for the snow to arrive with the ski hills delayed openings and the Queenstown Winter Festival kicking off tomorrow.

Quick Visit to Wellington

Dan and Matt just returned from a quick trip to Wellington. Highlights of the 48 hours in the capital included meeting the New Zealand Cycle Trails crew from the Ministry of Economic Development. We missed them whilst they were at TRENZ and appreciated the opportunity to get filled in on the latest developments of the 18 Great Rides.

We are constantly getting emails and phone calls from cycle tourists who are already planning their trips on these multi-day trails and it's great for MED to keep us updated.

Dan and Matt also presented the growth of cycle tourism to a fantastic conference and caught up on the developing Hutt Valley - Wairarapa Trail which is simply fantastic.

Tell People Your Business is Cycle Friendly

As more and more businesses from around New Zealand take out listings on NZByBike.com, we wanted to give them a chance to show their status as a "Cycle Friendly Business."

Cycle Friendly

This logo will be displayed on their websites and gives potential cycle tourists the chance to know the business supports the New Zealand Cycle Tourism Industry and NZByBike.com.

If your business is on NZByBike and you haven't heard from Matt yet, watch your inbox as he will be sending instructions on how you can add this to your own website.

Optimize Your Listing on NZByBike

Businesses listed on NZByBike are getting contacted daily by cycle tourists researching their trips to New Zealand.

Increase Bookings

Whether they be riding one of New Zealand's classic rides like the Queen Charolette Trail or one of the Great Rides from the New Zealand Cycle Trail project, they are finding bike rental shops, tour operators and accommodation options from Paihia to Queenstown.

We find that businesses who have filled out the "Listing ByLine" & "Listing Description" on the main Content tab of the edit page are two times more likely to get contacted!

Take this as a reminder to log-in now add these descriptions; while you're at it, add some more high-res photos to give cycle tourists a better view of your business.

Thank You

Thanks again to both those of you who have registered your business and those who continue to send us ride details, photos and descriptions of local towns; without you, we wouldn't be where we are today with 6,000 cyclists monthly using NZByBike.com to plan their holidays around New Zealand.

Keep up with us by becoming a fan on Facebook or following us on Twitter; until next time, don't hesitate to drop us a line in the Queenstown Innovation Centre at 034418494 with questions about NZbyBike.

Ride On,

Matt, Mat, Dan, Matze, Nicole, Toby, and Leandro
