The definitive where-to-ride guide for cycling in New Zealand

NZbyBike Pedaling Update - Heaphy Open to Bikers from May 1st & Traffic is Booming

Hi All-

We hope this finds you well as we head quickly into Autumn. We have had some bluebird clear days down here in Queenstown and are doing all the riding we can before winter comes around!

Matt has just returned from a whirlwind trip around both the North & South Islands talking with businesses about NZbyBike. It's been absolutely fantastic to put a face on so many of the businesses we've been exchanging emails with for the past nine months.

Riding the Motatapu

To those of you who took the time to sit down with Matt and talk about NZbyBike, your business, and New Zealand Cycle Tourism - we want to send a big 'Thank You' your way. We've been inundated with new listings over the past couple weeks and hope more of you continue to sign up in the coming days.

NZbyBike & Blog4NZ

As we've said before, NZbyBike is committed to the future of Cycle Tourism in New Zealand and we are reinvesting 10% of our profits back into New Zealand's mountain bike and cycle trails.

Blog4NZ

We've worked very closely with Travel Generation (another company based in the Queenstown Innovation Centre) over the past couple days as they co-sponsored the Blog4NZ campaign in the social media community. The response was enormous and thousands of travelers and bloggers from around the world spent 72 hours getting the message out that New Zealand is in fact open for business despite the devastation in Christchurch. NZbyBike submitted this post -

5 of New Zealand's Best Mountain Biking Destinations.

Heaphy Opens May 1st to Mountain Bikers

We suspect we're not alone in the fact that we're over the moon to know that the Heaphy Track will again open to mountain bikers from May 1st - September 30th. Starting at Brown Hut in northwest Nelson and finishing north of Karamea on the West Coast, this 78 km, 2-3 day ride will take in the absolute best of the Nelson and West Coast region. Watch NZbyBike for our full write-up on the ride to be released in the coming days.

Remote Adventures

NZbyBike At Races Around New Zealand

The whole of the NZbyBike crew rode the Motatapu two weekends past and Matt just returned from the 106 km Rainbow Rage. Now the boys are busy training for the 125 km Contact Epic around Lake Hawea! Thanks to those of you who joined us for après drinks and a BBQ around our NZbyBike Spaceship after the Motatapu - check out the photos here.
